The latest jewel in the crown of Spanish golf “La Finca” is a 15 to 20 minute drive north on the AP7 from the apartments,
It is situated in a vally at the foot of Mt Escotera in the heart of Spain`s citrus growing country. It has been designed, by
Don José Gancedo, and built with the intention of bringing the top Spanish and European golf tournaments to the Costa Blanca.

La Finca has the greatest variety of green of any course I`ve ever played, ranging in size from the very large to the very small, with a few real surprises thrown in.
It has lakes, rivers, sand, rocks, trees and reed beds, surrounding its magnificently manicured fairways. From the first, to the last, each hole has its own distinct magic.

My particular favourite is the par five fifth, with its downhill fairway ending in a lake island green that leaves no room for error.
It begs the question “do I lay up, or, do I go for it?” I, invariable, get that one wrong, although I have birdied it, once,(a pure fluke).

Another lovely hole is the, par four, seventh, an uphill dogleg right with a huge perfect square platform green with a bunker border to the left and back.
Then there is the uphill, par four, tenth, with its beach sized bunker to catch the big hitter trying to drive the green, the downhill eleventh with its bunker
surrounded island green over the river, I could go on, and on.

Suffice it to say, its an absolute gem of a course, to be enjoyed by all.
